Roman Bath Open-Air Museum
Monumental 3rd-century AD bath complex built under Emperor Caracalla dedicated to Asclepius, featuring intact hypocaust heating and open-air lapidarium.
Situated on Çankırı Avenue in Ulus, the Roman Baths were commissioned in the early 3rd century AD (211–217 AD) by Emperor Caracalla in honour of Asclepius, the Roman god of medicine and healing.
The complex features a grand wrestling palaestra, frigidarium (cold room), tepidarium (warm room), and caldarium (hot room), with its brick hypocaust underfloor heating pillars extraordinarily intact. The spacious archaeological park serves as an open-air lapidary museum housing centuries of Roman and Byzantine inscriptions, sarcophagi, and capitals.
