Republic Museum / Second Assembly
The Second Grand National Assembly building, which served from 1924 to 1960 as the crucible of modern Republican reforms and where Atatürk delivered his Great Speech (Nutuk).
Located on Cumhuriyet Avenue in Ulus, this building was designed in 1923 by prominent architect Vedat Tek and served as Turkey's Second Parliament from October 18, 1924 until 1960.
It contains the historic assembly hall where Atatürk delivered his marathon 36.5-hour 'Nutuk' speech in October 1927. Exhibits document the legislative passage of modern social, judicial, and educational reforms during the early decades of the Republic.
