Kocatepe Mosque
Monumental grand mosque of modern Ankara in Çankaya, built between 1967 and 1987 in classical Ottoman imperial revival style.
Dominating the central skyline of Çankaya, Kocatepe Mosque was constructed between 1967 and 1987, designed by architects Hüsrev Tayla and Fatin Uluengin.
Drawing inspiration from Sinan’s imperial masterpieces, it features four 88-meter minarets, accommodation for 25,000 worshippers, and monumental stained glass and tile artistry.
