The first dam of the Turkish Republic (1936), reopened in 2020 as a 413,000 m² recreation park featuring restored Atatürk House, lake walks, and picnic grounds.

Initiated in 1926 and inaugurated in 1936 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Çubuk-1 Dam holds historic pride as the very first civil engineering dam project of the Turkish Republic.

Reopened on Republic Day (October 29, 2020) by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality across 413,000 m², the park features scenic lakeside trails, lush picnic lawns, cycling paths, and the faithfully restored historic Atatürk Residence.
